Link Roundup - Ample Harvest, Mother Earth News, and more.

Hey, folks.  I'm working on buildinga new site for Swamp Pixie Herbal and Pixie's Pocket to join forces together.

While I'm pulling levers and pushing buttons, there's likely going to be a few more Link Roundup posts - I promise, more original content and recipes are soon to come!

Mother Earth News has a great article called "How to Buy Land, Even if You Think You Can't" - Eric and I are definitely interested in having our own bit o'earth to love and play with.  This is heartening, and a good step towards making the shift from renters to homeowners.

Unsure of what to do with all of your excess garden veggies?  Sick to death of cucumbers, tomatoes, and squash?  Check out AmpleHarvest.org.  "AmpleHarvest.org connects 40+ million Americans with excess food in their garden and local food pantries. Garden by garden, home & community gardeners and other growers are fighting hunger and malnutrition in America."

Waiting for the sun to redden...sigh....

Speaking of harvests - how are yours?  The rain around here has made it an odd year in my yard and garden.  The tomatoes that I have are from seedlings that a sweet former co-worker shares with our office each spring - organic heirlooms like Cherokee Purple and Jeune Flame.  They look happy, but there's no red in the tomatoes yet! I can't wait...I've been eyeing them daily.

There's also a few volunteer tomatoes out in the back yard where Bok the Chicken used to live. A visiting friend suggested that we call those little cherry tomatoes "Bok Joy" and I agree.

I'll be back soon with some new recipes and posts, bear with me dear ones.  Enjoy your early harvest season!
