Mulled Wine is good medicine

A whole counter of health tonics *hic*
Grumble. Mumble.

I have a fever...mild, mind you, and I should be in bed.  But I promise I'll do that in a minute. First I have to tell you about what I am drinking right now.

Three or so days ago, I took a half gallon of cheap burgundy wine and put it in a pot.  Into the pot went:

Cinnamon stick
Ground cardamom seeds
Ground grains of paradise peppercorns
Rosehips
Dried orange slice
A couple slices of fresh ginger
Damiana (for fun)
Brown sugar to taste, once it was warm.

I never let it boil, but it sat at a low, almost simmering, for an hour or so.  And when it was coolish, I poured it into a lovely empty Irish Mist bottle and mis-labeled it (with today's date, in fact. Go go psychic mindwaves!).

Tonight, I poured a half-mug of it and nuked it for 30 seconds and gosh, is it nice. But it's doing it's work and making me sleepy...I'mma go heal now.
